Software Team Leader
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to lead and manage a team of up to 4 engineers
- Work closely with customers to determine requirements
- Design, implement and test software to meet customer requirements
- Support the software integration with the customer’s systems
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Management processes
- Track, report and manage progress both internally and externally
- Lead the planning of work schedules and estimates
- Design and implement improvements to the company processes
- Lead internal and external technical meetings
- Interface to external suppliers of hardware or software
- Willingness and enthusiasm to undertake assignments at client sites
Required
- A degree (2.1 or above) or solid software development experience
- A good understanding of Object Orientation
- Competent in C++ and/or C#
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- The ability to lead and manage a team
- Experience in all areas of software development
- Ability to learn quickly, along with an eye for detail
- Ability to pass UK MoD Security checks.
Desirable
- Successful track record in leading software development teams
- Experience with Test Driven Development
- Experience with OS X
- Requirements capture using tools such as Doors
- An understanding of Digital Radar Systems
- Knowledge of C, the C++ standard library, MS Visual Studio, OpenGL, SQL, XML, Git or other DVCS, CVS, Linux
- Experience in Real Time Systems
