Software Test Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Interpreting software product requirements, design and specification information
- Software test planning, development, execution and reporting
- Diagnostic investigation of issues and reporting of defects
- Configuring and maintaining PC test facilities
- Software product integration within client systems
- Integration and system testing, including assignments at client sites
- Tracking and reporting of progress
- Adherence to company’s quality management and security procedures
- Identification and implementation of improvements to company processes.
Required
- A passionate interest in the development and support of quality software products
- A practical knowledge of PC hardware, software installation and configuration
- Investigative nature, methodical approach and an eye for detail
- Ability to work well within a team environment, support colleagues and to complete tasks autonomously
- Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Willingness and enthusiasm to undertake assignments at client sites
- Mobility for client site visits
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise assignments and focus on job completion
- Competent with the use of MS Office Word and Excel.
- Ability to pass UK MoD Security checks.
Desirable
- Degree level qualification in a technical subject, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of quality management under ISO9001/2008
- Experience with the use of database, configuration management and document management tools within the development, test and support of software products
- Project experience within the software development life cycle.
- Experience in the production of technical documentation
- Experience of large scale engineering projects
- Knowledge of Doors, Quality Centre, SQL, CVS, MS Office applications
