BlighterView
The Blighter® radar is part of Plextek's family of Blighter Surveillance Products consisting of radar and asset tracking solutions. The Blighter range of radars comprises low cost, electronically scanned, portable FMCW radar systems for the remote detection of moving targets.
Igence were contracted to develop an HMI (Human Machine Interface) called BlighterView, for the display and control of the Blighter radar.

BlighterView was designed to:
- Quickly set-up and control the Blighter radar
- Provide a flexible map calibration system
- Display target plots with additional target information such as location, size and radial velocity
- Facilitate asset protection and border surveillance by providing user configurable alert zones
- Achieve seamless integration with thermal imagers, day/night cameras and other remote sensors
- Allow the operator to listen to the Doppler Signature of the target to provide efficient classification
Our adaptable approach to software development enabled us to prototype and enhance the HMI functionality as the radar design itself achieved maturity.
