Retail Terminal
Igence were contracted to develop a new ticket machine for use in over 2,300 shops and other retail outlets in London, as part of the TranSys Prestige Project. The most significant change for customers is the introduction of a new smartcard called Oyster©, which is a quick, convenient and secure alternative to paper tickets.
The Retail Terminal was designed to:
- Provide an updated system for shops with an easy-to-use foolproof touch screen interface
- Support legacy magnetic stripe tickets
- Support the new Oyster© smartcard technology
- Be a compact, integrated and secure unit
- Be supremely reliable and easy to maintain and administer remotely, due to the quantity of units.
By working closely with the customer, we were able to produce an application that guides the Shop Keeper through each ticket sale and other functions.
