Station Accounting Facility (SAF)
Igence were contracted to develop a station accounting facility for use in over 300 station ticket offices on the London Underground, as part of the TranSys Prestige Project. This new facility was designed to significantly decrease the time spent cashing up and accounting on the stations.
The Station Accounting Facility (SAF) was designed to:
- Significantly reduce the amount of time a clerk spends cashing up at the end of a shift
- Track tenders on and off a station
- Integrate the accounting across the whole of the station, linking the passenger operated machines to ticket sales machines
- Automatically provide full station accounts for each Ticket Seller and Passenger Operated Machine
- Provide bag tracking and safe auditing facilities
- Provide a station wide stock control system
By interacting with the customer and end-user during an iterative prototyping phase, we were able to tailor the application's processes to the needs of the end user giving total reassurance that the system was fit for purpose. Having completed such an extensive prototyping phase we were able to deliver the project on time and on budget.
