Test Set MMI (TSM)
Igence were contracted to develop a Man Machine Interface to control the Data Processor Unit of the Searchwater 2000MR Radar/IFF System for the RAF's Nimrod Aircraft. The Nimrod 2000 will be fitted with an all new Tactical Control System (TCS) provided by Boeing. Prior to installation on the aircraft, Thales required an interface that simulated the TCS and would also provide extra control of the Radar for ground based testing and flight trials.
The Test Set MMI was designed to:
- To control all aspects of the Data Processor via messages sent over a MIL-STD-1553 data bus.
- To operate via a touchscreen, for easier operation in flight conditions.
- To display status and result information on the screen.
